Protect Your Home with
Flame & Ember-Resistant Wildfire Vents

V2 Vents are designed for home hardening and wildfire defense. Part of the FireStorm Building Products line and manufactured by New Cal Metals, they protect the ventilation opening of your home during wildfire. V2 Vents block embers, block heat and flames, and deliver the highest airflow on the market. Our vents are compliant across California’s Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), all fire hazard severity zones (FHSZ), and nationally across all WUI and home hardening applications.

The Vents on Your Home
Can Become a Wildfire Vulnerability

The vent openings on a home are easy to overlook. During wildfire, they can become one of the most vulnerable parts of the structure. Wind-blown embers can enter through attic, soffit, eave, and crawlspace vents and reach dry combustible materials inside.

Wildfire Tested, Code Compliant,
Built for Home Hardening

V2 Vents are built for wildfire-prone construction and retrofit work where code and testing matter. They are compliant with Chapter 5 and legacy Chapter 7A California code references, aligned with national WUI requirements, and designed for use across California fire hazard severity zones. V2 Vents are tested and listed to ASTM E2886/2912 for flames, embers, and radiant heat.

Why choose V2 Vents for Wildfire Defense?

How Do
V2 Vents Work During Wildfire?

V2 Vents combine our high airflow design with ember blocking and reactive flame defense in one vent assembly. Our stainless steel ember mesh blocks embers during ember attack – no activation required – works for the life of the vent. When wildfire heat reaches critical temperature at the vent, the intumescent coating on the honeycomb matrix expands and forms a protective barrier that blocks heat and flames from entering the vulnerable areas of your home

Codes and Compliance

A Clear Guide to Wildfire Code, Testing, and Home Hardening

Our Codes and Compliance guide explains how wildfire code, ASTM testing, WUI requirements, and home hardening priorities apply to vent openings across the home. It helps readers sort through Chapter 5, legacy Chapter 7A, IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home, and the product requirements tied to new construction, retrofit work, remodels, and additions.
